Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2003 Pontiac Vibe- Video

Today on our 2003 Pontiac Vibe we'll be installing the Tekonsha Primus IQ brake controller, part number TK90160, using the e-trailer brake controller install kit, part number, ETBC7. To begin our install we'll first go ahead and mount our 7 pole bracket to the 7 pole connector and then installing a Tow Ready no drill mounting bracket, part number 18136 onto the 7 pole connector bracket. For this application we'll be mounting the bracket upside down to allow for the 7 pole bracket to sit up tight and not drop below the hitch receiver tube. Note we'll go ahead and take our 7 pole connector and wrap it up with some black electrical tape. We're going to go ahead and trim the purple wire short as it's for trailer reverse lights which aren't going to be needed in this application. Now with our 7 pole connector mounted to the vehicle we're going to go ahead and remove the 4 pole connector exposing the green, yellow, and brown wires. We'll then go ahead and strip back the wires and prepare to install butt connectors. more
